Shoden to take nlyte's DCIM solutions to the UK market

Integrator To Help Users Reduce Datacentre Operating Expenses by up to 20%

London, UK, 21st September 2011 - Shoden Data Systems UK, an innovative provider of server and data storage solutions, today announced that it has partnered with nlyte Software to take its Data Centre Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solutions to market in the UK, helping organisations cut their datacentre OPEX by up to one fifth. Shoden is one of the first channel partners for nlyte, which focuses on providing its users with intelligent capacity planning resources that enable them to make the best use of power, cooling and space in their datacentres.

Since its UK launch three years ago, Shoden has been working with IT departments to help them design the most effective infrastructures to address today’s and tomorrow’s performance and scalability challenges. To date the integrator has installed solutions in organisations including Barclays, British Airways, Sainsbury’s and Standard Bank. Its experience with large enterprises and its background in telecommunications and financial services were among the reasons why it was selected by nlyte.

“Organisations including Clifford Chance, PNC Financial Services and Scottish and Southern Energy already rely on our DCIM technology but by partnering with Shoden we are taking no chances; this team’s understanding of the challenges faced by our target customers and their knowledge of our solutions will significantly expand our market share in the UK,” said Simon Webster, VP and general manager of EMEA operations at nlyte Software.

“For many vendors who are yet to establish a strong presence in the UK, the channel can be a stronger sales team than any in-house resources could be,” said Keith Humphreys, Managing Consultant at analyst firm euroLAN. “Resellers and system integrators tend to have the kind of market knowledge that takes a long time to develop and vendors have the opportunity to easily and quickly tap into this pool. I do believe that in this case, nlyte and Shoden are a great match.”

Shoden’s strategy has always been to choose the right vendors and the best solutions and to take these market bundled with its unparalleled customer service and support teams.

“DCIM is a fast-growing area and nlyte’s best-of-breed solution fits in very well with our focus on the enterprise space,” said Phil Jones, CEO of Shoden Data System UK. “Over time datacentres can become cluttered and inefficient places; by leveraging nlyte’s technology we are ideally positioned to help organisations make the correct strategic decisions for their data centres, and to improve their overall efficiency while reducing costs”

Both nlyte and Shoden are committed to making datacentres greener and both companies are supporters of the EU Code of Conduct for Data Centres. In addition Shoden is a supporter of the Open Cloud Manifesto, alongside organisations including Hitachi Data Systems, EMC and IBM.
